Basic Character Profiles

Christopher Hilshire – age 26. When he was younger, his father was one of the many to remember the first established government on the planet Lore. As a result, he was also established in the aristocratic system. Chris has led an extremely sheltered life since the time he was born. He was subject to every sort of propaganda, and as a patriot, decided to uphold the laws that he knew. As a result, when his world comes crumbling down before his eyes, he’s forced to re-evaluate everything that he thought he knew. In the end, he comes up with the troubling conclusion that he believes more in the rebel cause than he does in the aristocratic cause. The fact that Clare loses her life because of aristocratic values, everything is just topped it off for him. Because of this one incident and the information digging that resulted from it, he made the decision to become a rebel spy.

Clare – Christopher’s fiancé. Age 24. She has taken her calling as a doctor to a different standard than those around her. Kept secret from Christopher, Clare has been helping going down to the demilitarized zone in the 7th Clover Division to treat injured rebels and underprivileged citizens. The 7th Clover Rebel Division recognizes her as a friend, but never tell her anything. One day, she treats a young member of the rebel forces, new to the fighting. She leaks information to the rebels on that one occasion, and they use it to gain a foothold in a guarded location. Clare, who already is being watched by the main military government is assassinated by one of their agents.

Ezravan Jaimal – the new rebel leader after the death of Gail Taies. Age 25. Her ruthless nature has to do with her heritage. Her family once lived in the aristocratic system too, but since her father didn’t side with the views of commoner exclusion, they were exiled to life in the world of the less fortunate. Ezra doesn’t pity herself though. She considers herself to be lucky in many ways. Unlike many of the common people, she had an exceptional education. She understands the oppression that the people around her are under and won’t stand for it. At the age of fifteen when her mother passed away, she joined the rebels. Her father is her only living relative, but he shares her hatred for the aristocratic class, so he never gets around to stopping her. Ezra is tough because she has to be. Unlike some of the rebels (or even the aristocrats), she doesn’t enjoy killing. However, she also won’t think twice about pulling the trigger. Her policy on execution is that the person has to be threatening, awake, and armed in some fashion. Of course, she counts martial arts as a form of “armed,” so she’s been known to make exceptions in some cases where hand-to-hand combat was concerned. Contrary to popular belief in her rebel cell, she does have feelings. She will sooner admit defeat in a fight, than give in to harming a member of her cell or destroying something she is working hard for.

Andrew – Age 21. Chris’s best friend. Though he believes that some of the methods that the aristocratic system apply are wrong, he’s extremely loyal. He’s Clare’s assassin.

Vailease – She is the equivalent of a modern day NPC. The net has updated since the time of broadband, and what became of it was a series of locations based on virtual reality where a person can actually talk to a computerized person. The real difference though, is that Vailease, and others like her are intelligent programs. They think based on data they receive. They make friends based on how often a person talks to them. She is the one who ultimately tells Christopher about a good bulk of what really goes on between the rebels and the elite class. She also is the one who makes it possible for Christopher to find the rebels in the first place.
